Type 1 diabetes is a lifelong autoimmune condition that often goes misunderstood. Delayed diagnosis and lack of awareness can lead to serious medical emergencies and families frequently feel overwhelmed navigating care and education.
Turning Type One into Type None raises awareness about Type 1 diabetes, supports research through Breakthrough T1D and educates communities on early diagnosis, empathy and inclusion.
Making a Difference
Delivering age-appropriate presentations to students and staff about T1D — what it is, how to support classmates, and why awareness matters.
Organizing and participating in awareness events, fundraisers, and community outreach programs that shine a light on Type 1 Diabetes.
Promoting kindness and understanding through digital platforms, sharing health education and celebrating community stories.
Connecting families affected by Type 1 diabetes with resources, community, and encouragement to help them navigate care and education.





Taking It to the Top
Lexie has taken her T1D advocacy beyond the classroom — all the way to the Virginia State Capitol, testifying before legislators and receiving recognition from the Governor.

Lexie testified before the Virginia Senate Education & Health Committee in support of SB 122 — legislation to improve support for students with Type 1 Diabetes in Virginia schools.

Lexie received an official proclamation from Governor Glenn Youngkin at the Virginia State Capitol — a recognition of her outstanding advocacy work on behalf of the T1D community in Virginia.

Lexie hosts Diabetes Unfiltered — a YouTube series dedicated to honest, unfiltered conversations about life with Type 1 diabetes. From daily management to advocacy, the series gives a real look at what it means to live with T1D and fight for change.
Episodes cover everything from navigating school with T1D, to legislative advocacy, to connecting with the broader diabetes community. Lexie's goal is simple: no sugarcoating, just real stories that educate, inspire, and empower.
