Welcome - I'm Lexie Hovey, honored to serve as Miss Hanover County's Teen. I'm a student, dancer and health advocate and the founder of Turning Type One into Type None, an initiative inspired by my brother's diagnosis with Type 1 diabetes. Watching someone I love navigate a lifelong medical condition showed me how important early diagnosis, education and empathy truly are. Through school visits, community outreach and social media education, I work to raise awareness about Type 1 diabetes while encouraging kindness and understanding for those living with chronic illnesses.Thank you for being here. My Community Service Initiative
Turning Type One into Type None, was inspired by my brother Zach's Type 1 Diabetes diagnosis. Through social media education, community outreach, proclamations, legislative advocacy, and my interview series Diabetes Unfiltered, I work to raise awareness of Type 1 Diabetes warning sign, support families, and help students with Type 1 feel safer and more understood.

Presenting at schools and community events, Lexie shares her story to reduce stigma and inspire resilience.
